Viaplay Removes Promotional Suitcases in Copenhagen After Police Action

Viaplay Group has taken down promotional suitcases displayed across Copenhagen following public concern and police intervention. The suitcases, part of a campaign for a new season of the program 'Robinson Ekspeditionen,' were intended to remain until August 28 but were removed after causing unease among citizens and occupying police time.

We have received many inquiries from concerned citizens over the past 24 hours, reporting suspicious suitcases in various parts of the city.

Copenhagen Police reported receiving numerous calls about suspicious suitcases in various city locations over the past day. Police Inspector Peter Dahl noted that the suitcases created public anxiety and unnecessary work for the police. "We always urge citizens not to leave suitcases unattended in public places and to react if they observe a suspicious object," Dahl stated, expressing surprise at the nature of the promotional stunt.

One incident involved a suitcase at Nørreport Station that had been vandalized, making it appear suspicious with wires protruding. Police responded to the scene, although Viaplay's communication chief, Emil Frederik Johnsen, told DR that the suitcases were placed with police knowledge. Johnsen suggested that "troublemakers" had found and damaged a 'Robinson' speaker, then moved it to Nørreport Station.
