Vice President Hsiao Meets U.S. Attorneys General Delegation, Calls Taiwan an Important U.S. Partner

Taiwanese Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim met with a visiting delegation from the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) of the United States, led by NAAG President William Tong. During the meeting, Hsiao stressed the robust partnership between Taiwan and the U.S., highlighting extensive cooperation across numerous sectors.

Hsiao noted that the collaboration extends to economics, culture, education, security, and law enforcement. She specifically pointed out the solid relationships Taiwan has established with various U.S. state governments and legislatures, emphasizing that these state-level connections are a vital component of the broader Taiwan-U.S. partnership.

Taiwan and the United States are important partners, maintaining close cooperation in numerous fields such as economics, culture, education, security, and law enforcement. Establishing broad and stable partnerships with state governments and legislatures is an important part of the overall Taiwan-U.S. partnership.

She welcomed the delegation's visit, viewing it as a concrete demonstration of the close interactions between Taiwan and U.S. states. Hsiao expressed gratitude for the NAAG's annual invitation to Taiwan's Ministry of Justice to participate in their gatherings and related activities. This participation, she stated, fosters exchanges and cooperation in law enforcement, the safeguarding of democratic systems, and the sharing of common values.

Hsiao also mentioned that Taiwan maintains 14 representative offices in the U.S. Despite Taiwan's smaller geographical size, it actively engages with all U.S. states. This engagement underscores Taiwan's commitment to not only its partnership with the U.S. federal government but also its high regard for exchanges and cooperation with state and local entities. The Vice President expressed hope for continued deepening of bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
