Ousmane Dembélé was the standout performer for France, scoring a hat-trick in their commanding 4-1 victory over Norway. This result propelled the French team to the top of Group I in the World Cup.

Dembele, the reigning Ballon d'Or winner, showcased his attacking prowess throughout the match. He opened the scoring in the seventh minute after a long pass from Kylian Mbappé set him up on the right wing. Dembélé skillfully beat defender Fredrik André Bjorkan and finished with his right foot past the Norwegian goalkeeper.

The second goal arrived in the 20th minute during a swift counter-attack, again initiated by Mbappé. Dembélé cut inside and unleashed a left-footed shot from outside the box, which nestled into the right side of the net. He completed his impressive treble in the 32nd minute with a near-identical play on the right flank, leaving the defense behind before placing a shot into the right post, leaving Norwegian keeper Selvik with no chance.

With this first World Cup hat-trick, Dembélé has now scored four goals in the tournament, equaling Mbappé and Haaland, and trailing only Lionel Messi by one goal in the race for the Golden Boot.
