VIDEO: Hospital building collapses in Cross River

A hospital building in Calabar, Cross River State, collapsed after a landslide caused by heavy rainfall and soil erosion. The UNICEM Hospital, which serves local workers and residents, was left precariously suspended after the ground beneath it eroded before the structure gave way.

A video circulating on social media platform X captured the dramatic moment the building gradually collapsed into the gully below. The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026. As of the time of reporting, the Cross River State Government had not yet issued an official statement regarding the collapse.
