In a raw and emotional account, Nigerian media personality Roby Ekpo has revealed the painful discovery that his wife, from whom he has been separated, allegedly remarried in the United States. Ekpo shared his distress during an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, detailing how he stumbled upon private messages that exposed a profound breakdown in their marital relationship.

I don’t even care if he loves me or not because what can love do for me besides stress me? He isn’t taking care of me as a man should. He isn’t satisfying me sexually. He isn’t helping my spiritual life. He isn’t spoiling me. He isn’t anything good… I have been coping with unsatisfying sex for almost three years.

Visibly moved, Ekpo read excerpts from the messages, which he claims his wife was unaware he had seen. These messages reportedly detailed her deep dissatisfaction with their marriage, citing issues ranging from a lack of emotional and sexual fulfillment to a perceived lack of spiritual support. Ekpo, who is 48 and has no children, expressed his heartbreak, particularly as he had been undergoing fertility tests, believing they were still working towards starting a family.

Adding to his distress, Ekpo detailed the substantial financial support he provided over six years while his wife lived abroad, even sending flowers through friends. He recounted his efforts to maintain the marriage from a distance, including sending money for her return to Nigeria last year. However, he described the reunion as emotionally cold, noting the absence of a hug or kiss and sleeping in the living room for two days. He also alleged that she lived with a male flatmate abroad, a situation he initially tolerated but later suspected involved more than just friendship.

For six years she travelled, and I was sending money every time. I have receipts here. I would do a gig of ₦500,000 and send ₦200,000. I was even sending flowers, friends in the US helped me deliver them to her.
