VIDEO: Uninvited guest crashes wedding and feasts on expensive flowers, leaving newlyweds stunned

Estella Kirk and Gavin Guthrie had carefully planned their intimate beach wedding, but one guest definitely did not appear on the invitation list. As they exchanged vows before about 20 family members and friends, a female deer appeared a few meters away and decided the lavish floral arrangements were lunch rather than decoration.

The unexpected guest quickly became the star of the ceremony. Rosy, as the deer is known, calmly stood beside one of the arrangements and rapidly ate its white flowers and greenery. Kirk told People that the ceremony was about halfway through when she and her husband heard their guests laughing. They had been so focused on each other and their vows that they initially did not understand what was happening.

Rosy clearly decided that our floral arrangements were the perfect wedding buffet. She wanted to skip the ceremony and go straight to dinner.

The wedding took place on Aug. 1 at Little Palm Island in the Florida Keys, where the endangered Key deer lives in the wild. The resort describes the animals as favorite island residents that occasionally emerge from the surrounding mangroves. Visitors are generally advised not to feed or touch them, although Kirk’s grandfather gently tried to encourage Rosy to slow down as the flowers disappeared.

Rosy did not leave after eating. She remained close to the newlyweds during their beach photo session and even allowed them to pet her. “She stayed with us while we took all the photos and felt so comfortable around us that she even let us pet her. She stayed until the very last photo, just as it began to rain,” Kirk said. The couple now say they would not change a thing about the unexpected interruption.
