VIDEO: Vušković scores first goal for Brighton against Leeds

Luka Vušković marked the start of his English career with his first goal for Brighton and his first in the Premier League, earning a 1-1 draw against Leeds at the Amex.

Leeds made the stronger start and took the lead in the 15th minute. After a scramble in front of Brighton’s goal, Jayden Bogle reacted quickest and sent the ball into the net.

The visitors remained the more dangerous team before halftime, troubling Brighton’s defense and creating opportunities to extend their advantage. Brighton raised the tempo after the break and began pushing for an equalizer.

The pressure paid off in the 71st minute. After a Brighton attack, the ball fell to Vušković, who found the net to make it 1-1. The result stayed unchanged.

For the 19-year-old center-back, the goal was an especially important moment so soon after arriving in England. It also highlighted the scoring ability he had shown during the previous season in Germany.
