Vienna district heating maintenance to leave 140 homes without hot water for days

Around 140 households in Vienna will be without hot water for several days due to essential maintenance work on the district heating network. Wiener Netze and Wien Energie have announced extensive work scheduled from June 25 to June 29 in parts of the Penzing and Ottakring districts (14th and 16th districts).

During this period, residents in the affected areas will experience a temporary interruption in their district heating supply. The companies stated that this maintenance is crucial for upholding and enhancing the reliability of the heating system, as well as for its future expansion.

Affected residents are being informed about the temporary disruption and provided with information on alternative solutions. These may include options such as using shower facilities at sports centers or utilizing temporary container showers.

This planned interruption is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the long-term efficiency and capacity of Vienna's district heating infrastructure, a key component of the city's energy supply.
