Vietjet Celebrates 50 Million Passengers on Vietnam-Thailand Route, Plans Fleet Expansion

Vietjet marked a significant milestone by celebrating 50 million passengers on its Vietnam-Thailand route. The airline also announced ambitious plans to expand its fleet in Thailand, aiming to grow to 50 Boeing 737-8 aircraft. This strategic move is designed to modernize its fleet in the region and enhance connectivity across Asia.

The airline's expansion in Thailand is a key part of its broader strategy to develop a modern and sustainable aviation network. Vietjet Thailand will receive its 10th Boeing 737-8 aircraft in May 2026. The company aims to build a fleet of 50 such aircraft, contributing to the development of Thailand's aviation industry and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

This growth is expected to foster international connections, linking Thailand with key markets like Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, China, and India. Beyond air travel, Vietjet's operations in Thailand have created tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs and are projected to contribute approximately 4.5 billion Baht to the Thai budget between 2022 and 2025. The airline also plans to promote sports, culture, and community development in collaboration with local partners.

Vietjet's Chairman, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, emphasized that the flights connect not only destinations but also people, cultures, and aspirations.
