Vietnam Deputy PM oversees preparations for fallen soldiers' remains search

Preparations are underway at Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City for a significant ceremony to locate and gather the remains of Vietnamese soldiers. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra personally inspected the site on July 5, emphasizing the importance of a thorough and respectful commemoration.

The ceremony, slated for the morning of July 6, aims to honor soldiers who died during the 1968 Tet Offensive. It is part of a broader national campaign to search for, collect, and identify the remains of martyrs who are still missing information.

Deputy Prime Minister Tra urged military and city officials to meticulously review all organizational aspects. She stressed the need for careful preparation to ensure the event proceeds safely, with dignity, and fully realizes its commemorative purpose. The Deputy PM also called for the inclusion of historical witnesses and representatives from various forces involved in the search efforts.
