Vietnam police charge teens over violent street brawl

Three teenagers face charges of public disorder in Da Nang, Vietnam, following a violent street brawl that left three individuals with severe injuries. The clash, which involved makeshift weapons and pepper spray, erupted from a traffic dispute between two groups of minors.

Authorities have identified the accused as V.A.K, 17, T.Q.D, 17, and T.X.Q, 16. The investigation, led by the Da Nang City Police's Criminal Investigation Agency, is proceeding under Article 318 of the Penal Code. V.A.K and T.Q.D have been detained, while T.X.Q is restricted from leaving his residence as the investigation continues.

The incident unfolded on the evening of July 3rd when a dispute occurred between two groups of teenagers on motorbikes. The conflict quickly escalated, with one group throwing glass bottles and attempting to obstruct the other with a wooden plank. The confrontation intensified when one group sought reinforcements, arming themselves with pepper spray and more glass bottles.

The chase culminated on DT607, where the groups, traveling at speeds around 70 km/h, engaged in a dangerous pursuit. The situation turned critical when V.A.K's motorbike pulled alongside the opposing group, and V.M.H deployed pepper spray. This caused N.L.B.Â, who was driving, to lose control and crash, resulting in injuries to all three occupants of the bike. N.L.B. suffered a broken finger and other wounds, T.X.Q sustained multiple fractures including a broken femur and wrist, and N.Q.P sustained a severe head injury.
