Vietnam's Digital Finance Festival Showcases Cross-Border QR Payments and Biometric Tech

Vietnam's Digital Finance 2026 Festival, held June 6-7 in Ho Chi Minh City, highlights the nation's rapid growth in digital finance. The event, now in its eighth year, expanded its scope beyond cashless payments to encompass the broader fintech ecosystem and evolving digital consumer trends.

A key attraction was the NAPAS booth, showcasing VietQRGlobal, a service enabling cross-border QR payments in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, China, and South Korea. This allows international visitors and Vietnamese citizens to make convenient payments for shopping and business.

NAPAS also introduced Palm Pay, a biometric payment solution using palm vein recognition. This technology authenticates users by scanning the veins in their palm, offering a contactless and device-independent payment experience. The company aims to enhance transaction speed, convenience, and security.

Attendees could also experience Tap&Pay with NAPAS cards and VietQRPay, with proceeds from discounted items going to charity. Additionally, a collaboration with Payoo and Koi Thé offered discounts of up to 50% for payments made via QR or NAPAS cards. The festival included interactive activities, giveaways, and opportunities to meet influencers, further engaging the public with digital payment technologies.
