Vietnam’s top leader attends conference on Politburo resolutions

Vietnamese General Secretary and President Tô Lâm attended a conference in Hanoi on September 3 with current and former party and state leaders to study and implement several Politburo resolutions and directives.

The meeting took place in person at the Diên Hồng meeting room in the National Assembly building and connected by video to provincial and municipal party committees, centrally affiliated party organizations and grassroots locations across the country.

During the conference, Tô Lâm and other leaders visited the exhibition “Simple Yet Noble Examples,” organized by the Hồ Chí Minh Museum. The program also included a review documentary on 10 years of implementing Directive 05-CT/TW of the 12th Politburo.

The sessions addressed the core points of directives and resolutions on studying Hồ Chí Minh’s thought, ethics, methods and style; ideological work in a new context; officials’ pioneering and exemplary role; overseas Vietnamese affairs; regional development and national spatial planning; and turning tourism into a leading economic sector.

Tô Lâm was scheduled to deliver an important directive speech at the conference. The proceedings were broadcast to party committees and other connected locations throughout Vietnam.
