Vietnam's Top Leaders Meet Press on Revolutionary Press Day

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met with leaders of press agencies on June 14, marking the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. This gathering was notable for the presence of numerous Politburo members, Central Committee secretaries, and leaders from various ministries and sectors.

Chairman Man emphasized that 2025 and the early months of 2026 have seen the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, and Government issue crucial decisions that represent historical turning points for the country's development. Despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges, Vietnam has achieved commendable results. These include sustained high growth rates in 2024-2025, continuous increases in state revenue (reaching 2.1 million billion VND in 2024 and projected at 2.6 million billion VND in 2025), and an economy size of approximately $514 billion USD, with rising per capita income.

The Chairman also noted the stability of the macroeconomy, controlled inflation, progress in culture and society, and improved social security and public well-being. He attributed these successes to the leadership's "renewed thinking and action – say it, do it, do it now, do it right, do it effectively, and see it through," as urged by the General Secretary and President.

Man specifically acknowledged the press's significant contributions. He stated that media outlets have closely followed the resolutions of the 14th Party Congress, vigorously promoting important Party and State policies and strategies. They have comprehensively reflected various issues, particularly reporting on the restructuring of personnel, administrative units, and the determination to achieve growth targets. The press has also led efforts in defending the Party's ideological foundation, countering hostile viewpoints, and fostering a healthy, humane, and responsible media environment.

Furthermore, Man recognized the media's adaptation to the dynamic and challenging communication landscape, including the merger and streamlining of administrative bodies. He highlighted their investment in digital technology, development of national digital data platforms, and cultivation of multi-skilled journalists to compete in the digital media space. He also praised impactful articles that have inspired citizens to adhere to Party guidelines and State laws, facilitated broad social forums for democracy, and contributed to public discourse.
