Vietnam Soldiers Race to Build Border Schools

More than 250 soldiers and militiamen from Military Region 5 are engaged in a round-the-clock effort to construct boarding schools in the border areas of Da Nang. These troops, comprising regular forces from the Da Nang Military Command, have set up temporary camps to accelerate the building of these crucial educational facilities.

As of May 28, an additional 50 officers and soldiers from the 143rd Regiment of the 315th Division were dispatched to the Đắc Pring commune in Da Nang. Their mission is to expedite the construction progress, ensuring the schools are ready to welcome students before the upcoming academic year. Upon arrival at their assigned locations, the soldiers have established living and working conditions, received their mission briefings, and implemented safety measures before commencing construction.

Despite the intense heat and harsh weather conditions prevalent in the border communes, hundreds of officers and soldiers maintain high spirits, working diligently and coordinating with local authorities to speed up the school construction. Tuổi Trẻ Online reports that, following the Politburo's directive to invest in building schools in border communes, Da Nang is constructing six boarding schools.

These schools include the A Vương Inter-level Primary and Secondary Boarding School (total investment over 344 billion VND), Tây Giang (over 285 billion VND), Hùng Sơn (over 316 billion VND), Đắc Pring (289 billion VND), La Êê (over 270 billion VND), and La Dêê (over 291.5 billion VND). With the requirement to hand over the facilities before the 2026-2027 academic year, contractors are striving to overcome all difficulties to meet the deadline. Reinforcements from various military units have been sent to assist.

Delegations from the Ministry of Education and Training, the City Party Committee, and the Da Nang People's Committee have conducted inspections, urging swift construction to ensure the schools are ready for the new academic year. The soldiers from the 143rd Regiment are working tirelessly, enduring the heat to expedite the project. Construction is proceeding "3 shifts, 4 teams" day and night to ensure timely delivery before the new school year begins. The boarding schools for children in the highlands are being built with the dedication and hard work of the soldiers from Military Region 5.
