Vietnam: Trial for 'Supercar King' Phan Cong Khanh delayed

A trial involving Phan Cong Khanh, widely known as 'Khanh Supercar,' and his alleged accomplices has been postponed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court. Originally scheduled for August 28, the hearing is now set to take place on September 17.

Khanh, 32, along with Huynh Xuan Vấn, 39, and Mohamach Da Pha, 30, are accused of abusing trust to appropriate property. The charges stem from allegations that they used their luxury car trading company, K-Supper Co., Ltd., to engage in fraudulent activities involving high-value vehicles.

The court granted the postponement after lawyers representing two of the three defendants submitted requests for a delay. This is not the first time the case has seen a change in schedule or charges. In July 2025, Khanh and Da Pha were initially indicted for fraud and abuse of trust, but the court later returned the case for further investigation.

According to the indictment, Khanh and Vấn established K-Supper in 2019, specializing in high-end automobiles. However, as the business reportedly incurred losses, the defendants are accused of devising a scheme to misappropriate assets. One alleged incident involved Khanh taking possession of a McLaren 650S Spider valued at 7.1 billion VND from a client, L.N.T.H., under the pretense of selling it. Instead, Khanh, Vấn, and Pha allegedly pawned the car for 2 billion VND, later demanding an additional 1 billion VND. This resulted in Khanh's group appropriating 3 billion VND from H., reportedly to secure another vehicle.

When the car and money were not returned by the due date, H. discovered Khanh's debts and the pawned McLaren. She subsequently filed a complaint with the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency on June 27, 2023. In another instance, Khanh and Vấn allegedly deceived Mr. T.H.P. into purchasing a Brabus G800, falsely claiming the company owned it, for 24.5 billion VND. After Mr. P. transferred the funds, Khanh reportedly evaded him and used the money for personal purposes. Da Pha is also accused of misappropriating a BMW 7-Series valued at 8.7 billion VND, which he borrowed and then pawned for 1 billion VND.
