Vietnamese businesswomen: Women's resources key to national competitiveness

At the 14th National Congress of Vietnamese Women Entrepreneurs, prominent businesswomen stressed that harnessing women's potential is crucial not only for gender equality but also as a key driver for economic growth and national competitiveness.

Labor Hero Thái Hương, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association and Chairwoman of the TH Group Strategy Council, urged the Vietnam Women's Union to proactively create strategic value for the nation. She noted that the Party and State consistently promote substantive gender equality, facilitating women's participation in management and entrepreneurship. The ultimate goal, she stated, remains improving people's quality of life and fostering a safe, healthy living environment.

Hương identified environmental protection and public health as pillars of a new development model, with green transition as an economic growth engine. "Economic growth that is green and sustainable cannot succeed if the physical and intellectual capabilities of the people are not enhanced. A nation is only as healthy as its people," Hương emphasized. Drawing from her experience in the clean food sector, she advocated for a people-centered growth model grounded in public health. Investing in school nutrition and health today, she argued, is an investment in future human resources, preparing a workforce capable of leading national development by 2045.

Nguyễn Thị Nga, Chairwoman of BRG Group and Vice Chairwoman of SeABank, added that realizing national development aspirations requires effectively utilizing all resources, with women being particularly vital. "Today, women are not only a major labor force but are also taking on increasingly significant roles in leadership, innovation, and value creation," Nga stated. She pointed to the growing participation of women in various sectors as evidence of their expanding influence.
