During a meeting with the Vietnamese diaspora in the Philippines, Ambassador Lại Thái Bình highlighted the significance of Lâm's visit. He noted the community's active participation in trade and educational exchanges, emphasizing their commitment to preserving Vietnamese language and culture while seeking business opportunities to contribute to national development. Representatives from the community expressed their joy at Vietnam's progress and their desire to contribute their expertise.

President Tô Lâm commended the diaspora's efforts in maintaining cultural identity and promoting economic ties. He reiterated that Vietnam is the Philippines' sole strategic partner in Southeast Asia, with bilateral relations flourishing across various sectors. Both nations are actively working to boost bilateral trade, targeting $10 billion to capitalize on untapped cooperation potential.
