Villa Mosaic unveils Mono, a secluded Yangpyeong retreat built around restraint and space

Villa Mosaic has introduced Mono, a secluded retreat set between a forest and a valley in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province. The membership-based brand limits access to a small number of guests, presenting the new space as an extension of its approach to private rest in nature.

Mono takes its name from the Greek word “monos,” meaning one or alone. The design centers on restraint and open space, using color, materials and form as a continuous visual language rather than as separate decorative elements.

The building’s simple, elongated shape is intended to sit in harmony with the surrounding landscape. The forest and valley are treated as central parts of the experience, while the indoor and outdoor areas connect in an uninterrupted flow.

At the center of the main building, an approximately 18-meter-long living room faces the forest through full-height glass windows. The arrangement gives guests a panoramic view of the surrounding trees and makes the landscape a defining feature of the villa.
