'Villages and Landscapes 2026' Ride Gathers 700 Cyclists in Ahome, Sinaloa, Promoting Tourism and Well-being

A family-friendly atmosphere filled with enthusiasm marked the 'Pueblos y Paisajes 2026' cycling event in Ahome, Sinaloa, which saw approximately 700 cyclists and sports clubs from across the state gather. The ride commenced from the Multi-Use Center (CUM) in Los Mochis, embarking on a journey through some of northern Sinaloa's most iconic landscapes, with destinations including Topolobampo and the beach at El Maviri.

This initiative, a coordinated effort by the Secretariat of Well-being and Sustainable Development (Sebides), the Secretariat of Tourism, and the Ahome City Council, aimed to strengthen social interaction, regional tourism, and promote sports as a tool for well-being. Families, friends, young people, and adults converged at the starting point early in the morning, eager to partake in a recreational experience that highlighted the natural and tourist attractions of the Ahome municipality.

Officials, including the Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna, and the Mayor of Ahome, Antonio Menéndez de Llano Bermúdez, were present, joining participants on this sporting and recreational journey. They underscored the importance of such activities in promoting healthy lifestyles while simultaneously generating economic benefits and tourism promotion for the visited communities.

Arq. Omar López Campos, Secretary of Well-being and Sustainable Development, expressed his delight at the public's participation, particularly recognizing the cyclists' enthusiasm. "We are very happy with the participation of the cyclists. We saw many families riding happily and enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Topolobampo and El Maviri; that is precisely what we seek with these rides: to generate community, well-being, and for people to enjoy our natural spaces," he stated. The event concluded with participants enjoying a communal gathering by the sea at El Maviri, celebrating the shared experience amidst the area's characteristic natural beauty.
