Vilnius festivalgoer puzzled by 10-cent plastic cup charge

A beer menu at Vilnius Days left one Vilnius resident wondering whether a 10-cent plastic cup fee was actually being charged.

Diana told Delfi that she saw a food stall listing beer at 6 euros, with an additional 10 cents for the plastic cup. She said the amount was small, but she had never encountered such a charge before. When she asked why it applied, staff reportedly told her that the beer cost 5.90 euros and that the cup charge was already included.

The explanation did not appear to match the menu, which showed a 6-euro beer price alongside the separate 10-cent cup fee. Diana said she was told the total already included everything. The additional 10 cents was not taken from her when she paid.

Vilnius Days is taking place across several central locations, including Cathedral Square, Gediminas Avenue, Vincas Kudirka Square, Lukiškės Square, the area near the White Bridge and the Neris riverfront. The weekend program includes concerts, food areas, sports and other cultural activities, with the festival scheduled to end on Sunday.
