Vilnius Launches First River Festival, Invites Exploration of Neris Banks

Vilnius is hosting its inaugural "River Festival," transforming four distinct areas along the Neris River into vibrant event spaces. The area near the White Bridge serves as the festival's main stage and hub for active sports. Along the Olympiets Street embankment, visitors can explore zones dedicated to sustainability, city exploration, and literature. Near the Vingis Park Bridge, the festival features film screenings and wellness activities.

A significant highlight is the "Red Bull" tandem event, the first of its kind in the Baltics. A special course has been set up in the Neris River, complete with various obstacles, including a miniature replica of the Gediminas Castle Tower.

As evening approaches, the festival offers live music. The alternative rock band "Colours of Bubbles" takes the stage at 7 p.m., followed by performer Angelous at 8 p.m., and the band "ba." with Benas Aleksandravičius at 9 p.m.

After the concerts, the festivities move to the roof of the Energy and Technology Museum for a "silent disco" starting at 10 p.m., featuring DJs Sandra Gemayel, Mesijus x Munpauzn, and DJ Valdagger.

The festival, conceived by its organizers as a new summer tradition, aims to invite Vilnius residents and visitors to discover the Neris riverbanks through music, sports, culture, and leisure activities.
