Vilnius Region Plans 'Wreath House' at Historic Estate

A historic estate in the Vilnius region is set to become the new home for a unique cultural initiative aimed at preserving a cherished local tradition. The Vilnius Regional Municipality has announced plans to establish a 'Wreath House' at the Mozūriškės manor.

This dedicated cultural institution will champion the art of Vilnius region wreath-making, a significant aspect of intangible cultural heritage. The initiative seeks to provide a space for the continued practice, education, and exhibition of this craft, ensuring its survival for future generations.

The proposed 'Wreath House' will succeed the current Čekoniškės village center's wreath and domestic life workshop. The existing premises have proven insufficient to accommodate the expanding museum, educational, and cultural activities associated with the tradition. The move to the Mozūriškės manor signifies a commitment to revitalizing and properly housing this important cultural practice.
