Vinotinto qualifies as group leader for U-17 Futsal Sudamericano semifinals

Venezuela's U-17 futsal team has clinched the top spot in Group A, advancing to the semifinals of the South American Championship undefeated. The Vinotinto secured their leading position with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over host nation Paraguay in their final group stage match.

Despite having already guaranteed a semifinal berth with a 2-0 win against Colombia, Venezuela pushed for the group's first place. Goals from Ricardo Vázquez, Gabriel Boadas (twice), and Ángel Bastidas sealed the win, overcoming Paraguay's second-half comeback.

The team's dominant performance throughout the group stage included a 3-3 draw with Uruguay, a 3-2 win against Chile, and a victory over Colombia. Ángel Bastidas has been a standout player, scoring in every match, including a brace against Chile and a crucial goal against Paraguay.

Venezuela will face Argentina in the semifinals on August 15th. Argentina secured second place in Group B, trailing only Brazil. The Vinotinto's strong showing in the group stage, accumulating 10 points, positions them as strong contenders in the tournament.
