Violent death of young man in Choloma under investigation after discovery in Los Castaños

Authorities in Choloma, Honduras, are investigating the violent death of a young man whose body was found with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, estimated to be between 16 and 20 years old, was discovered at the entrance of the Los Castaños residential area in Cortés.

Allan Sauceda, head of the Metropolitan Unit for Prevention (UMEP-10), stated that the body was initially unidentified. Information regarding the circumstances of the death remains inconclusive. A motorcycle mirror was found at the scene, leading investigators to preliminarily consider the hypothesis that the victim may have been attempting to steal a motorcycle.

No shell casings were found at the scene. Police are awaiting the forensic medicine report to precisely determine the cause of death. The case is under investigation by the Directorate of Police Investigations (DPI) as authorities work to identify the deceased and clarify the events that occurred in the area.
