Violent Hailstorm Injures People, Causes Damage in Argentina's Santa Fe Province

A violent hailstorm swept through southern Santa Fe province on Thursday, leaving a trail of injuries and significant damage. The storm, characterized by intense hail, also caused several trucks to become stranded on provincial routes 65 and 178.

The severe weather event occurred as a storm front advanced across the region. In the town of Las Rosas, hail caused injuries, and local volunteer firefighters and civil defense teams are currently on the scene. Neighboring communities like Monje, Gálvez, Díaz, and Casalegno also experienced the storm's intensity, with ice stones covering streets and open spaces.

One particularly striking video captured near Díaz shows a truck driver navigating through the heavy hail. The footage was widely shared on social media by residents. The Center for Meteorological and Climatic Monitoring (CMMC-SAT) had issued multiple alerts throughout the morning regarding the progression of isolated storms.

Earlier warnings at 7:05 AM alerted residents in areas including Chañar Ladeado, La Chispa, and Venado Tuerto. Later, at 8:48 AM, another advisory was issued for the industrial belt of Rosario and its surroundings, predicting storms, strong gusts, lightning, and occasional hail. The morning's instability left a stark reminder of the region's volatile weather patterns.
