Vipusa driver murdered, alleged perpetrators arrested in Villa El Salvador

A bus driver was killed in the Villa El Salvador district of Lima, Peru, after being shot by an assailant who posed as a passenger. The victim, identified as 46-year-old Mauro Garriazo Flores, worked for the transport company Vipusa S.A.

The incident occurred on Monday night as the bus was traveling near the intersection of Pacto Andino and Primero de Mayo avenues. Following the attack, the alleged assailant fled the scene. However, the Peruvian National Police (PNP) announced the subsequent capture of three individuals believed to be involved in the crime.

According to Lieutenant General Manuel Lozada, the arrests took place at a property in the Asociación Agropecuaria. The detainees were identified as José Carlos Inchaustigue Quiroz, alias 'Diablo,' reportedly the leader, Marco Jhonnyel Zambrano Maldonado, alias 'Cachorro,' and Gabriel Alejandro Andrade Valera, alias 'Rata.' Quiroz is Peruvian, while Zambrano and Andrade are Venezuelan nationals.

During the operation, police discovered five mobile phones containing messages that appeared to be extortion demands directed at transport companies and business owners in Villa El Salvador. The PNP indicated that the arrested individuals are allegedly part of the criminal group 'Los Cachorros,' which is considered the armed wing of the organization 'Los Mexicanos.' This larger group is suspected of being behind the extortion activities targeting Vipusa S.A.
