Visaginas Launches Festive Events for 51st City Anniversary

Visaginas, Lithuania, is marking its 51st anniversary with a vibrant festival that kicked off with a new exhibition and a musical performance. The opening day featured the unveiling of Aleksandras Vasiljevas's "Wedding Dresses" exhibition and a concert blending live and electronic music at the Visaginas Culture Center.

The festival continues with a diverse program showcasing both foreign and Lithuanian talents. Saturday's lineup includes a performance by Finnish illusionist Hannu Juntunen and a dance piece titled "Before Becoming a Butterfly" by local artist Ieva Bražėnaitė. The event aims to engage residents and visitors with a rich cultural experience.

Further festivities include "Scanorama" night cinema screenings and street theater starting August 4. A Belgian acrobatic troupe will present a show, followed by a jazz and rave project called "RAVENJAZZ" on August 6. Additionally, morning pajama exercises led by renowned Latvian choreographer Olga Zitluhina will take place by the lake from August 4 to 8.

The celebratory week culminates on August 8 with a grand concert featuring Lithuanian artist Linas Adomaitis, the Kaunas Big Band, and the rap group "Kasta," promising a memorable conclusion to the city's anniversary celebrations.
