VM-heroes' flight delayed from USA, major celebrations postponed

The Norwegian national football team's celebratory homecoming from the USA has been disrupted by a significant delay to their private flight, forcing a rescheduling of key events in Oslo.

The team, including star player Erling Braut Haaland and coach Ståle Solbakken, was expected to land at Gardermoen airport around 6:45 PM on Monday. However, their flight from Florida encountered delays, pushing back their arrival time. This setback means they will miss their planned 7 PM audience with King Harald at the Royal Palace.

Following the royal audience, the team was scheduled to participate in a public celebration, including an open bus tour through Oslo city center. The itinerary included stops at Universitetsplassen and Rådhusplassen for interactions with fans. The Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) had expressed anticipation for thanking the Royal family and the public for their support throughout the team's "eventful journey."

Norway's World Cup campaign concluded with a 1-2 loss to England in extra time on Sunday night. Despite the disappointing outcome, fans had gathered at the Palace Square to honor the team, echoing the "Rowing" gesture that became a symbol of their World Cup run.
