Voice of Baceprot highlights Garut's damaged roads, citing hardship for pregnant women

The Indonesian metal band Voice of Baceprot (VOB) has drawn attention to the deplorable condition of the Banjarwangi-Singajaya road in Garut, Indonesia. The band's members, Marsya, Siti, and Widi, expressed their dismay over the road's state, which has been neglected for a long time.

Vocalist Marsya shared a video on Thursday, August 13, 2026, illustrating the road's severe damage. The footage reveals a main route for residents of Banjarwangi-Singajaya and southern Garut, characterized by numerous potholes and sections that remain unpaved, resembling dirt tracks rather than a proper road. Motorists and car drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution to avoid accidents.

Marsya highlighted that the road's deterioration has been ongoing for an extended period, with no clear timeline for repairs. She pointed out that the road users are active taxpayers and that its poor condition has led to frequent accidents. In one alarming instance, a driver reportedly fell into a ravine.

It's not uncommon for women here to deliver while on their way to the hospital," Marsya stated in English on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
