Vojislav Brajović to Receive "Ernest" Award at Sombor Film Festival

Actor Vojislav Brajović is the recipient of the "Ernest" award for 2026 at the 8th Sombor Film Festival, scheduled to take place from July 9th to 12th under the slogan "Light and Shadows of Reality." The festival organizers announced the award, highlighting Brajović's exceptional contributions to theater, film, and television over the past five decades.

Brajović's extensive career boasts over a hundred roles across theater, film, and television. His authentic performances, particularly in collaborations with prominent Serbian filmmakers like Puriša Đorđević, Goran Marković, Goran Paskaljević, and Zdravko Šotra, have left an indelible mark. Memorable roles include those in "Otpisani," "Povratak otpisanih," "Nacionalna klasa," "Boja na Kosovu," "Turneja," and "Bure baruta."

Beyond his acting achievements, Brajović has made significant contributions through his long tenure at the Yugoslav Drama Theatre and his involvement with cultural institutions. He has dedicated himself to enhancing and preserving the dignity of art and culture in Serbia. The "Ernest" award, named after film pioneer Ernest Bošnjak, is presented for outstanding contributions to contemporary film art and its future development. Brajović will receive the award on July 10th at the City Hall Atrium in Sombor.
