Volcanic eruption in Indonesia cancels 2,300 flights, disrupting 270,000 travelers

A volcanic eruption at Anak Krakatau turned travel in Indonesia into a nightmare for 270,000 passengers, after 2,300 flights were canceled.

Jakarta’s main international airport, along with six other airports across the archipelago, said their closures would continue until at least 6 p.m. local time. The eruption prevented tens of thousands of travelers from reaching their destinations.
