Volkswagen's Redesigned T-Roc Crossover SUV Arrives in Taiwan, Boasting Larger Size and Mild-Hybrid Tech

Volkswagen Taiwan has officially introduced the completely redesigned T-Roc crossover SUV, marking significant upgrades in its exterior styling, interior features, cabin quality, spatial functionality, and powertrain technology. The new model arrives in Taiwan with two distinct trims: the 280 eTSI Style Design, priced at NT$1.198 million, and the "Nightshade" edition, which adds a blacked-out styling package, for NT$1.218 million. Both prices include government subsidies for trade-ins and reduced commodity tax.

The redesigned T-Roc retains its coupe-like sloping roofline and enhances visual appeal with two-tone paint options. Its dimensions have grown to 4,372mm in length, 1,828mm in width, and 1,573mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,629mm, offering a more spacious cabin and a larger 475-liter cargo capacity. The exterior adopts Volkswagen's latest design language, featuring a continuous LED daytime running light strip, an illuminated VW logo on the front, and IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights. The rear boasts sequential LED dynamic taillights, also with an illuminated VW logo.

Inside, the T-Roc boasts a new digital cockpit, integrating a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch Discover Pro central touchscreen. It's equipped with the latest MIB4 infotainment system and a Chinese voice assistant for an advanced user experience. The "Nightshade" edition further accentuates its sporty character with an exclusive "Flame Red" paint and a comprehensive black exterior and interior styling package.

Under the hood, all T-Roc models in Taiwan are powered by a 1.5-liter eTSI four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. This engine, paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, produces 150 horsepower and 25.5 kg-m of torque. The integration of ACT (Active Cylinder Deactivation) technology and the 48V mild-hybrid system aims to deliver superior fuel economy.
