Volleyball: Finland thrashes into European League semifinals, secures Euro Championship spot

Finland's men's national volleyball team has advanced to the European League semifinals with a dominant 3-0 victory over Iceland. The team secured their spot in the final four with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, and 25-12, concluding the group stage with a strong performance.

This significant win not only propels Finland into the semifinals but also guarantees them a place in the 2028 European Championship. The team, coached by Olli Kunnari, will also participate in this year's European Championship as hosts, with matches scheduled in the Nokia Arena in September.

In the semifinals, Finland is set to face Denmark. The first match will be played in Odense on June 28, followed by the return leg in Nokia on July 1. The other semifinal will feature the Netherlands against Israel. The European League finals also offer a coveted spot in the upcoming Volleyball Nations League (VNL), a competition featuring the world's top national teams, which will be decided based on ranking points, likely between Finland and the Netherlands.
