Vopnafjörður Receives Generous Bus Donation from Jim Ratcliffe

The community of Vopnafjörður in Iceland has received a significant gift from businessman Jim Ratcliffe, who donated a 17-seater Ford Transit bus through his Six Rivers Foundation. The vehicle will be a valuable asset for the local Eldriborgarafélagið (Elderly Association) and the Einherji football club, improving transportation options for residents and enabling greater participation in various activities. The donation ceremony took place at Einherji's clubhouse, Vallarhúsið. The Six Rivers Foundation focuses on conservation and restoration of nature in northeastern Iceland and Tanzania, with a particular emphasis on protecting wild Atlantic salmon populations and river ecosystems in Iceland. The foundation also works with local communities to build sustainable tourism and support nature conservation and local economies. The bus is seen as a crucial step in strengthening community ties and supporting the club's operations.
