Vorcaro asked Moraes: “Couldn’t we reverse this with Paulo or Andrei?” Messages reveal

Daniel Vorcaro’s messages to Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes included a direct request to delay police action against Banco Master, according to messages extracted from the banker’s phone and obtained by Estadão.

The exchange indicates that Vorcaro repeatedly asked Moraes to contact Federal Police Director-General Andrei Rodrigues and Prosecutor-General Paulo Gonet. He wanted them to prevent lower-ranking investigators and prosecutors from taking action against the bank, which was preparing to announce an alleged sale to a consortium involving Fictor Holding Financeira and investors from the United Arab Emirates.

Vorcaro first asked Moraes to influence the police and prosecution leadership on Oct. 30, 2025. On Nov. 16, at 4:57 p.m., he asked whether Rodrigues could postpone expected precautionary measures. “If Andrei can delay it until next week, because there is a holiday, the bank won’t collapse. Try to call him and persuade him if you think possible,” Vorcaro wrote, according to the report.

Investigators cited in the report said the messages suggested Vorcaro knew about the first phase of Operation Compliance Zero before it began. He was arrested on the night of Nov. 17 at São Paulo’s international airport in Guarulhos while preparing to fly to Dubai. The operation has since reached 10 phases, and Vorcaro has been detained since March 4 by court order.

The messages also mention a 131 million reais contract with the law firm of Moraes’s wife, Viviane Barci. Banco Master transferred 80 million reais to the firm’s account in October 2024, according to tax data shared with a congressional organized-crime committee. Estadão requested comments from Moraes, Rodrigues, Gonet and Vorcaro’s defense, and said the opportunity to respond remained open.
