Wanted soldier accused of supplying uniforms to terrorists nabbed by troops

Nigerian troops have apprehended a soldier previously declared wanted by the Nigerian Army for his alleged role in supplying military accoutrements to terrorist groups. The suspect, identified as 23NA/84/1939 Private Mohammed Yusuf of the Nigerian Army Ordnance Training Facility, was intercepted by troops of the 7 Provost Group while attempting to escape to Cameroon. Sources indicate Yusuf had absconded from his unit on July 7 and traveled to Maiduguri, where he allegedly went into hiding. He was reportedly sheltered by another soldier, Private Baba Kamal Sale, in Borno State. Acting on intelligence, troops placed Yusuf under surveillance before arresting him at Jidari Bus Stop as he tried to flee. He is currently in military custody, facing further investigation into his alleged activities and potential accomplices. The arrest is viewed as a critical development in the ongoing campaign to dismantle internal networks that aid terrorist organizations operating in Nigeria's Northeast.
