Waste Management Facilities in Jakarta Settlements Improved for World Environment Day

PLN Icon Plus has enhanced waste management infrastructure in the Kebon Pala neighborhood of Makassar, Jakarta. This upgrade, conducted recently, is part of the company's "Iconnectivity for Green" initiative, a social and environmental responsibility program.

The project aims not only to preserve the environment but also to improve the living standards of the community. According to PLN Icon Plus CEO Chipta Perdana, the renovations focused on the waste collection point, which had been damaged and had limited capacity. The improvements are expected to make waste collection and transportation more effective.

This effort underscores PLN Icon Plus's commitment to its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. It also contributes to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 12, which promotes responsible consumption and production through better domestic waste management.

Chipta emphasized the importance of tangible environmental actions that directly benefit the public. "Through Iconnectivity for Green, PLN Icon Plus presents a program that addresses community needs while strengthening environmental awareness," he stated. Arie Hans, General Manager of PLN Icon Plus for the Jakarta and Banten regions, expressed hope that the upgraded facilities would be optimally utilized by the local residents.
