Weather alert for storms extended to six departments in Paraguay

Paraguay's Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a severe weather alert, forecasting "phenomena of severe weather" in several departments. The warning is in effect for zones in the central, southern, and eastern parts of the Oriental Region during the early hours of Sunday.

The alert indicates that "nuclei of storms continue to develop over the coverage area, and the occurrence of isolated severe weather phenomena cannot be ruled out during the early morning hours today." Residents can expect "moderate to heavy" rain and thunderstorms, with the possibility of occasional hail.

The updated alert specifically targets the departments of Guairá, Caazapá, Itapúa, Misiones, Paraguarí, and Alto Paraná. The extended forecast suggests that precipitation and storms will persist throughout Sunday and are expected to affect most of the country, including the capital city, Asunción.
