Weather cools in Romania. Rain and storms forecast in several regions

Romania is bracing for a significant shift in weather as cooler temperatures and unstable conditions are forecast for Monday, June 15. Meteorologists predict a departure from recent warmer days, with a notable drop in temperatures across most of the country.

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) anticipates variable skies with temporary cloud build-ups. These conditions are expected to bring showers and thunderstorms, particularly to the Dobrogea region. Muntenia and Oltenia will also see localized rain, while other areas may experience these phenomena on a more limited scale. The rainfall could be torrential in places, with isolated accumulations of 15–25 liters per square meter.

Wind conditions will be light to moderate, though gusts of 60–70 km/h are expected on mountain peaks. More localized wind intensifies, reaching 40–45 km/h, are forecast for the northwest, central, and southern parts of the country. The possibility of isolated squalls and hail has also been mentioned.

Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 19 and 30 degrees Celsius. However, minimum temperatures could fall as low as 4 degrees Celsius in eastern Transylvania, while the coast might see lows of 18 degrees. Isolated instances of fog are also possible. In the capital, Bucharest, the weather will cool down, with maximum temperatures between 25–27 degrees Celsius and minimums ranging from 14–16 degrees. The city can expect variable skies with periods of increased cloudiness, showers, thunderstorms, and brief wind intensifications.
