Weather: Summer to continue for Bavaria

Bavaria is set to enjoy a prolonged period of summer weather, with a brief cool interlude giving way to renewed heat. The German Weather Service predicts a return to high temperatures starting Saturday, with the 30-degree Celsius mark expected to be surpassed in parts of Franconia and southern Bavaria. Even higher elevations, such as the Großer Arber in the Bavarian Forest, will experience warm conditions, reaching up to 21 degrees Celsius.

Sunday is anticipated to be even warmer, with weather experts forecasting temperatures as high as 36 degrees Celsius in some areas. While isolated thunderstorms and rain are possible in the evenings, the nights are expected to provide some respite. Temperatures in the Frankenwald region could drop to single digits overnight, and southern Bavaria may see local drops to between 9 and 16 degrees Celsius.

The new week is forecast to begin similarly, with meteorologists predicting scattered showers and thunderstorms on Monday. Despite the occasional unsettled weather, the overall trend points to a continuation of summer-like conditions across Bavaria.
