Incessant rainfall has paralyzed normal life in several Indian states, prompting authorities to suspend the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand due to swollen rivers. Landslides have also blocked numerous roads, with 109 routes closed in Uttarakhand alone. The Ganga river in Haridwar is flowing near the warning level, and the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers have crossed their warning marks in Rudraprayag. Residents are urged to evacuate riverbanks and move to safer locations.

Himachal Pradesh is grappling with the aftermath of continuous downpours, which have led to the closure of 152 roads across the state. Mandi district has been the hardest hit, with 57 roads blocked, followed by Chamba, Kullu, and Shimla. The state has experienced an 8% excess in rainfall between July 1 and July 29 compared to the average.

The national capital, Delhi, is under a yellow alert, with the India Meteorological Department forecasting light rainfall and a generally cloudy sky until noon. Another spell of rain is expected at night. Meanwhile, widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated parts of Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Punjab, Karnataka, West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana, and Uttarakhand. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are also predicted for several coastal and interior regions.
