Wei Chuan Dragons end six-game losing streak with 11-4 rout of CTBC Brothers

The Wei Chuan Dragons snapped their team-record six-game losing streak with an emphatic 11-4 victory over the CTBC Brothers in a Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) game on Tuesday.

The Dragons secured the win in dramatic fashion during the 10th inning, exploding for eight runs to decisively end the contest. This crucial victory not only halted their longest losing streak in franchise history but also marked the end of their five-game losing streak against the Brothers.

Both teams were locked in a scoreless tie through five innings. The Dragons broke the deadlock in the sixth with a double by Lan Yin-lun, but the Brothers quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning. Wei Chuan regained the lead in the eighth, only for the Brothers to tie the game again in the bottom of the eighth with a clutch three-run triple by Yueh Cheng-hua.

However, the Dragons' offense proved unstoppable in extra innings. After taking a 5-3 lead in the top of the 10th with consecutive RBI hits from "Magic" and Wang Po-jung, they unleashed an eight-run barrage. This offensive outburst, featuring 12 batters coming to the plate, set a new CPBL record for most runs scored in a single extra-inning under the "tie-break" rule, which was implemented in 2024.

The win was particularly significant for the Dragons, as it was their first extra-inning victory of the season. The CTBC Brothers, conversely, now have a 0-4-1 record in extra-inning games this year.
