Weiss took the mound against the Salt Lake Bees, an affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, on August 1st. The game, held at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas, saw Weiss pitch 4⅓ innings. During his outing, he allowed two hits and issued four walks, striking out six batters.

The critical moment came in the fifth inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, Weiss's control faltered completely. He issued a walk, forcing in a run, and was subsequently removed from the game. This inability to find the strike zone, particularly in a high-leverage situation, is a major concern for any team.

Weiss's struggles with command have been a recurring theme. His previous stint with the Hanwha Eagles was also marked by inconsistency.
