West Bank: 15-year-old Palestinian killed in Israeli raid

Israeli security forces conducted multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, leading to the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old Palestinian near Ramallah. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the teenager, identified as being from Jerusalem, died from a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency services attempted resuscitation efforts but were unsuccessful.

In a separate incident near Hebron, two other individuals sustained injuries from gunfire during another raid by Israeli security forces, according to the Red Crescent organization. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the operation near Ramallah was part of several raids carried out across the West Bank on Monday.

The Israeli military issued a statement confirming that soldiers responded with gunfire to a suspect during an operation where they were subjected to "violent riots" and "stone-throwing." The army stated that a hit was confirmed. Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Laila Ghannam, condemned the incident, calling it an "execution in broad daylight."

Recent statistics highlight a significant increase in Palestinian fatalities. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), at least 59 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers and soldiers in the West Bank since the beginning of the year. The Israeli NGO B'Tselem reported that over 200 Palestinian minors have been killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, the highest number recorded since 1967. Between the Hamas attack and the start of the Gaza war in 2023 and June 28, 2026, Israeli soldiers have killed a total of 1,086 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including 241 children and adolescents. During the same period, at least 46 Israelis, both soldiers and civilians, were killed in the area, according to Israeli figures.
