West Java Governor: Drought hits several regions amid irrigation issues

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has announced that drought conditions are beginning to impact several areas across the province. He attributed the worsening situation, in part, to the inadequate performance of the region's irrigation infrastructure.

Mulyadi, also known as KDM, explained that while provincial authorities are working to ensure water supply for residents, the agricultural sector faces challenges due to irrigation problems. He mentioned that the current planting season is concluding, with the next planting cycle expected in October. For immediate agricultural needs, water pumps are being utilized.

The governor identified Indramayu, parts of Subang, and Karawang as some of the regions experiencing drought. He expressed concern that the irrigation systems in these areas are either not functioning correctly or have fallen into disrepair, contributing significantly to the water scarcity.
