The detention of Damir Šegota, director of the Olympic Program Office at the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO), has cast a shadow over the upcoming election for the committee's new president. Šegota was detained just days before the scheduled election assembly, adding another layer of turmoil to an already contentious period for Croatian sports governance.

Šegota's detention raises questions about the stability of the HOO and the integrity of its electoral process.
