When spring begins in Uruguay in 2026 and the astronomical equinox date

This event signifies the moment when Earth's axis is not tilted relative to the sun, leading to nearly equal durations of daylight and darkness across the globe. The term 'equinox' itself derives from the Latin 'aequinoctium,' meaning 'equal night.'

The Earth's axial tilt of 23.5 degrees is the fundamental reason for the existence of seasons, as it causes unequal distribution of solar light throughout the year.
