White House Launches Immigration-Expulsion Video Games, Human Rights Group Says They Make Fun of Human Lives

The White House has turned immigration enforcement into a game. A website launched on the 3rd features MAGA-themed titles that let players chase migrants or build a border wall, prompting a human rights group to accuse the administration of making light of human lives.

One game, “Rio Run,” reworks the classic Snake format. Players control a digital likeness of Tom Homan, the White House border affairs chief, as he pursues migrants of different skin colors along the Rio Grande on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Another title, “Build the Wall,” borrows from Tetris. Its instructions say: “Protect the border and repel the incoming migrant tide.”

In a statement to Agence France-Presse, the White House said the Trump administration was working to explore innovative ways to present the president’s achievements in a manner that could resonate with every American. It said the initiative highlighted a culture of fun and victory, contrasting it with what it described as the Democratic Party’s dark socialist vision for the United States.

The games drew an angry response from Amerika Garcia Grewal, co-director of a border coalition in Eagle Pass, Texas. “It really disgusts me. They have been making a joke of human lives for years, and now they have turned what they are doing into video games,” she said.

The launch came as the Trump administration stepped up arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants. Trump campaigned on a promise to deport millions of undocumented immigrants and, after returning to political office, introduced measures intended to speed removals and reduce illegal border crossings.
