Who Is Joheirry Mola Dominguez, Miss Dominican Republic and Miss World 2026 Winner?

Joheirry Mola Dominguez, Miss Dominican Republic, won the Miss World 2026 title on Saturday, Sept. 5, in Vietnam. She prevailed over 110 other contestants and succeeded Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand.

Miss Malaysia finished as second runner-up and Miss Spain as first runner-up. France’s Indira Ampiot was eliminated just before the Top 6 and ended the competition in the Top 12. The article says the final speaking challenge hurt her chances, as she struggled with English and repeatedly apologized by saying, “Sorry about my English.”

Three other French contestants also entered the pageant: Miss Guadeloupe, Miss Martinique and Miss Guyana. Guadeloupe and Martinique did not make the Top 40, while Audrey Ho-Wen-Tsaï of Guyana reached that stage.

Dominguez, 24, holds a business administration degree specializing in strategic management and leadership. She also works as a cultural correspondent for Ventana a Quisqueya, a television program broadcast by Univision New York, where she highlights Dominican culture.

The new Miss World advocates education through Voices for Tomorrow, an organization she created to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds access English literature. Onstage, she said learning English was important because it would allow “the doors to open wide.” She also holds Dominican and US citizenship and won the Top Model Challenge for the Americas and Caribbean during the preparatory program, earning a direct place in the pageant’s Top 40. Her victory gives the Dominican Republic its second international title in the competition’s history.
